E.O.Y. SUMMER CAMP 2012

            FINE ARTS AND PERFORMANCE MEETS A WORLD OF FASHION

This amazing summer camp is for boys and girls between the ages of 6-13.  This select group of children will receive training in the following areas:  dance, music, art, sign-language, modeling photography, and fashion design.  Our 8 week program starts on June 18, 2012 and ends on August 10, 2012.  Camp Hours: 8:40am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday.  Camp Location: St. Felicitas Church Basement (84th Blackstone)

Expressions of You would like to thank the staff at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center for inviting the girls to dance at their annual Jesse Brown Spirit Award (Thanks Tima). We also want to send a special thank you to Mrs. Dorothy Hillard, the sister of the Beloved Jesse Brown and grandmother of one of our dancers (Danae). We can feel Jesse's spirit all throughout the center.The management and non-management staff that was honored on April 2, provide unconditional service to veteran patients on a daily basis. Not only does Jesse Brown's spirit live through them, it now lives through each of us!

The Passion of Christ

Expressions of You could not go another year without hosting "The Passion of Christ". I could not have spent a better way of reflecting on the life, death, and after life of Jesus on Sunday, April 1, 2012. The pain and suffering that Jesus endured was creatively demonstrated through song, dance and narrative reading. Special thanks to Father Rom and the St. Felicitas community for allowing us to host our event! We also want to thank Pastor Lonnie Posely, Minister Curtis Hall and One Accord, Oakdale Covenant Dance Ministry, and Nubian Cultural Center for helping us make this such a meaningful event. "The Passion of Christ" will take place again next year!

Expressions of You Dances for a Meaningful Cause...Africare!

Expressions of You Spiritual Youth Dancers were simply amazing at Kennedy King College on Feb. 25, 2012. This was their 3rd year dancing to raise money for the mothers and babies born HIV Positive. Their dedication to dance and their passion for the arts brought the audience to tears. From the youngest to the oldest, each dancer captured the message in each song through their beautiful extensions, graceful turns, and excellent facial expressions. If you missed this event, you must purchase a ticket to our own event (A Celebration of Life) at Kennedy King College Theater on Sat, June 23, 2012. The show starts at 4pm....doors open at 3:15pm.
